Hi, I'm
Jane

I am an aspiring UX designer and Coast Guard veteran passionate about shaping thoughtful digital experiences. I love bridging brand identity with UX/UI to create intuitive, innovative, and impactful design systems that serve real users in the modern age. Outside of design, you can find me swimming, biking, running, or adventuring around the country with my husband, Dave, and our dog, Arlo, in our Airstream.

My Story
For more than 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, I worked in environments where clarity, trust in information, and human-centered decisions were essential. As a helicopter pilot and national defense leader, I learned to stay calm under pressure, simplify complex situations, and design workflows that helped people act quickly and confidently when every second mattered.
That experience shaped how I think as a designer today. I’m drawn to building digital experiences that feel intuitive, supportive, and clear — especially in moments when users are managing complexity, uncertainty, or stress. Ultimately, I believe great design should feel intuitive — supporting people in the background so they can stay focused on what matters most.

As I transition into a career in human-computer interaction and design, I’m excited to apply my operational experience, curiosity, and structured problem-solving to create technology that genuinely empowers its users. Whether the stakes are high or everyday, I want to design solutions that help people feel informed, confident, and in control.
